Abstract
Corn is Mexico’s most important crop, and in the Lerma-Toluca sub-basin, its production faces challenges due to climate change. The objective of this study was to estimate the productive potential of rainfed corn in the Lerma-Toluca sub-basin under current and future scenarios, considering two climate change pathways. Agroecological zoning was developed using observed climate data from the National Meteorological Service and projections from General Circulation Models. The results show that average productive potential is predominant in the region and tends to decrease consistently between 2050 and 2070 in both scenarios. However, in the most extreme scenario for 2070, an increase of 96 812 ha with high productive potential is projected. These findings underscore the need to implement adaptation strategies, such as the adoption of varieties tolerant to high temperatures and reduced water availability.
The environmental and economic aspects of white corn production in Guanajuato between 2016 and 2020 were studied. The factors that significantly contribute to the environmental impact of irrigated (MR) and rainfed (MT-450) corn production, as well as the profitability of production and its contribution to local self-su...

Maize (Zea mays L.) is a globally important crop, particularly in Mexico, where it faces challenges such as climate change, soil degradation, and phytopathogenic diseases. This study evaluated the effect of biostimulants (Trichoderma spp., chitosan, and humus leachate) on morphometric growth and rhizosphere fungal dive...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the Biotic Regulation Potential Index (BRPI) by surveying and integrating different indicators. The study was conducted in May 2025 in seven plots under agroecological transition or conventional management and with different land uses, crop diversification, and border managem...
