Abstract

This study identifies and analyzes the number of hours associated with bioclimatic strategies in 11 Brazilian capitals under the RCP 8.5 emissions scenario for the year 2050. The methodology adopted a quantitative approach based on climate data projected by the MPI-ESM, HadGEM2, and NorESM1 global models, coupled with the REMO regional model. The results indicate a relatively low number of thermal comfort hours for some Brazilian capitals and a dependence on strategies such as artificial cooling, consequently contributing to high energy consumption in buildings. Based on the results, it is possible to provide support for the design of resilient buildings in a scenario of pronounced global warming, highlighting the uncertainties among the different climate models.
