Outline of Marchitectural Concepts A reading grid for reality within the M²FA Edifice Situated Approach Volume 1 of the diptych

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

This volume introduces a reading grid for reality, built on six transversal concepts extractedfrom the M²FA Edifice: Threshold, Shield, Bond, Signature, Resonance, Code. Each concept ispresented separately, applied to four domains — the living, human organisations, technical systems, classical physics — and then the whole is put to work on three concrete cases: a pandemic, an enterprise in rapid growth, an individual in professional crisis. The grid is not a theory. It is a tool: six questions to pose to any situation, six dimensions to explore before concluding that one has understood. It does not predict, does not prescribe, does not replace intimate knowledge of the case. It structures that knowledge. It makes visible pointsof fragility and points of support that the naked eye does not see. The volume opens with a terminological note and a preface that situates the grid in relation to four existing frameworks — self-organized criticality, resilience theory, synchronization in complex networks, and the edge of chaos. It then develops six conceptual chapters, each followed by a practical application. Chapter 7 shows the grid in action. The volume closes with a conclusion onwhat the grid allows and what it does not, a postface placing it within a larger diptych, a glossary of operational terms, and a bibliography. The M²FA Edifice presents itself as a meta-model: a model of models, not a theory claimingto absorb the others, but a framework that makes visible transversal patterns between separate domains. It does not claim to be the theory of everything. It offers a common language to fragmented disciplines. The present volume is the simplest entry into this Edifice. What this volume proposes is a manner of looking. No more, no less. The grid does not askto be believed. It asks to be tried. On a case one knows well. The reader will judge for himselfwhether the grid brings something, or whether it merely reformulates what he already knew.
