Code and numerical data for "Undrained Fault-Zone Poroelastic Feedback Enables the 2011 Prague Earthquake Cascade"

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

This repository contains MATLAB code and numerical data accompanying “Undrained fault-zone poroelastic feedback enables the 2011 Prague earthquake cascade” by Zhengze Li and Sylvain Barbot. The model combines injection-driven pore-pressure diffusion, frictional fault slip, elastic fault interactions, and undrained fault-zone poroelastic feedback to investigate the 2011 Prague earthquake sequence and subsequent fault-network evolution. The package includes: Three-fault and 27-fault hydraulic and fault-dynamics models. Long-term earthquake-cycle solvers and compact initialization states. Scripts for poroelastic-feedback, hydraulic, operational, and receiver-fault prestress experiments. The full three-fault reference trajectory, compact plotting data for six fault-network simulations, and source-data tables for the hydraulic and operational experiments. Plotting scripts and a README describing setup, execution, parameters, and data formats. The code was run using MATLAB R2025b on macOS. Supplied data support plotting without rerunning the long-term simulations. Full simulation histories can be regenerated using the included solvers. Final manuscript figure layouts and observational-map artwork are assembled separately.
