Exploring Materials Science through Educational Activities in Informal Learning Environments
Abstract
This study investigates the educational reconstruction of materials science concepts for informal learning environments. Conducted as part of the MaSCot project, the research focuses on creating engaging STEM activities that address socio-scientific issues, such as medical applications of biomaterials, while fostering collaboration between teachers and scientists. The results highlight the potential of informal learning environments for promoting scientific literacy and bridging the gaps in formal education while at the same time teachers undergo some form of professional growth.
