Abstract

In the 21st century, gamification is a promising trend in education that builds on the motivational needs of students socialized in digital culture. The aim of this research was to develop and test a gamified physics teaching model that aims to strengthen student engagement and active participation in class. The study was conducted using qualitative methodology: student experiences were analyzed based on interviews and observations. Descriptive results are available on the development of student engagement. By mapping player types, learning organization became more personalized, and the reflective development process based on feedback provided an opportunity to incorporate student experiences. By the end of the experiment, which spanned the entire school year, students’ engagement in physics learning had increased with the incorporation of the improvements they had formulated.
