Abstract
Calcium (Ca
2+
) signals are key mediators of cellular information processing and regulate numerous physiological processes. Their dynamic and compartmentalised nature is linked to cellular function and disease. Here, we introduce CARMEN, a polycistronic fluorescence-based biosensor system that enables simultaneous, high-resolution monitoring of Ca
2+
signals in distinct subcellular compartments within the same living cell, supporting future high-content imaging and drug-screening applications.
An extensive analysis of the physical principles of blood composition detection technologies based on optical biosensors and their role in modern medical diagnostics contributes to the development of advanced diagnostic systems and improvement of clinical monitoring efficiency.
Super-resolution microscopy is applied on Ca V 1.3 channels in stem-cell derived atrial myocytes to study cluster architectures and dynamics, finding that these channels are mobile inside membrane domains, being loosely clustered in contrast to previous models of dense channel packing.

We present nanoelectronic platforms for real-time cellular analytics that enable simultaneous electrical and electrochemical measurements at the single-cell level. Using nanofabricated electrode arrays, we record electrophysiological activity from neurons and cardiomyocytes while integrating sensing modalities for key...

Using computer simulation, we studied heat propagation in a four-layer thermoelectric sensor after absorbing single photons with an energy of 0.8 eV. The sensor consists of a multilayer structure including a dielectric absorber, a molybdenum reflector that also serves as an electrical contact, a low-temperature thermoe...

Harmful cyanobacterial blooms are increasing in frequency globally, yet there is still a lack of understanding regarding the biological roles of such toxins. Chemoselective visualization and quantification of cyanotoxin synthesis via high-resolution microscopy in combination with advanced imaging analysis can track c...
