Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming translation and interpreting with unprecedented speed, raising fundamental questions about the future of cross-lingual communication. This edited volume brings together scholars and practitioners from around the world to examine the technological, ethical, legal and pedagogical dimensions of this transformation. It explores developments such as neural machine translation, large language models, wearable translation devices and AI-assisted subtitling, while critically examining algorithmic bias, copyright challenges in the age of generative AI, questions of accessibility and linguistic justice, and the evolving roles of human translators. The various chapters evaluate real-world AI tools; investigate quality and professional practice, particularly in audiovisual translation; and consider how translator education must adapt to technological change. Rather than seeing AI as a substitute for human expertise, this volume advocates a responsible, human-centred integration that safeguards the cultural, ethical and interpretive dimensions of translation while harnessing technological potential.
The results are packaged in the Greenfield Startup Model (GSM), which explains the priority of startups to release the product as quickly as possible, and the need to shorten time-to-market, by speeding up the development through low-precision engineering activities.

The findings show that speed related agile practices are used to a greater extent in comparison to quality practices, and that software startups who adopt the Lean Startup approach do not sacrifice quality for speed more than other startups do.
