Many-STM Classicality in Generalized Trace Dynamics: Martingale Criterion, Spectral Sources, and the Missing Irreversible Sector: Project VII closure paper

Abstract

Generalized Trace Dynamics (GTD) proposes that quantum theory is the equilibrium thermodynamics of an underlying matrix dynamics and that objective reduction is driven by fluctuations of the Adler--Millard charge. This paper asks a narrower and falsifiable question: do the presently written many-STM and master-matrix actions actually supply the stochastic and dissipative ingredients required for Born-rule-respecting classicality? We first restate the model-independent stochastic acceptance test. For a two-branch reduction variable $p\in[0,1]$, Born probabilities follow when $p$ is a bounded martingale and the dynamics completes at $p=0$ or $1$. A smooth microscopic noise has a Stratonovich white-noise limit and generates the Wong--Zakai drift $\tfrac12\sigma\sigma'$. The compensating response $-\tfrac12\sigma\sigma'$ is therefore necessary in this class. We strengthen this result by solving the fractionally compensated family exactly: for $\sigma(p)=\sqrt{\Gamma}\,p(1-p)$ and compensation fraction $\alpha$, completion occurs for $\alpha>0$, but the exit law is Born only at $\alpha=1$; at $\alpha=0$ the logit is recurrent Brownian motion and reduction does not complete. We then audit three proposed microscopic sources. The conditional auxiliary fermionic construction gives a Wightman line at $|\omega|=2\omega_0$, but a single undamped line has zero Green--Kubo diffusion: its integrated variance is bounded at fixed nonzero $\omega_0$, while the quasi-static $T^2$ law results from the opposite order of limits. The published additive many-STM Hamiltonian gives an exact zero subsystem Adler--Millard current even for correlated initial ensembles. A free non-normal master matrix does permit a nonconstant conjugation-invariant projected charge, but its common oscillator frequency gives exact recurrence at $\pi/\Omega$ and hence $D(0)=0$ for every matrix size. Finite Grassmann soul terms cannot generate a negative-real body eigenvalue. Finally, a positive spin--Sutherland Gram interaction supports stable rank-$r$ textures with $r^2$ zero modes, but right-unitary invariance prevents it from selecting the physical $8+8$ orientation and it does not by itself generate an irreversible stochastic sector. The conclusion is a scoped closure result, not a no-go theorem against GTD: the present actions establish source capacity and stable relational structure, but they do not derive the projected response/noise pair, amplification, pointer sectors, or durable records. We give a precise specification for the missing irreversible collective interaction and a claims ledger separating theorems, conditional constructions, and open hypotheses. Project VII is thereby closed as an audit: the next task is not to fit an arbitrary ``master interaction'', but to construct one whose retarded and symmetrized kernels pass the martingale, zero-frequency, positivity, symmetry, and record-formation tests stated here.
