Abstract
akróasys is a synthesizer that uses generative AI as an oscillator rather than as a generator of finished audio. It carries two such oscillators. The T5 Oscillator operates inside the text-embedding space of a diffusion audio model, before that space has been rendered to sound, and makes the embedding itself playable: two short text impulses mark out a region, and the instrument moves through, past and around it under continuous control. The Language-Resonant Oscillator (LRO) takes a description in ordinary language and has a locally running language model write a complete Csound orchestra for it, consulting a curated library of parametrised synthesis code with measured parameter ranges and perceptual anchors. The emitted program is compiled and executed live as the instrument's voice source. akróasys is developed as a critical-aesthetic and pedagogical instrument for making machine listening audible and playable. Published as T5ynth up to and including version 2.5.3.
The results are packaged in the Greenfield Startup Model (GSM), which explains the priority of startups to release the product as quickly as possible, and the need to shorten time-to-market, by speeding up the development through low-precision engineering activities.
