Lane-free signal control: simulator, controllers and result files

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

Code and result files behind a manuscript under anonymous review on signalcontrol for lane-free mixed traffic seen by a roadside camera. The archive contains a lane-free heterogeneous microscopic simulator with ajunction box, a pedestrian phase and a height-aware roadside camera thatpairs every camera frame with the true state; the classical controllers(fixed-time, Webster, actuated, longest-queue-first, max-pressure,longest-wait-first), a deep Q-network, and a four-setting phase-selectionrule whose setting a reinforcement learning agent picks per decision; anaction mask that bounds how long a vehicle stands at a red stop line for anypolicy behind it; a bridge that runs the same controllers in Eclipse SUMO;the evaluation harness, the paired statistics and the job list naming thecommand behind every result file; the test suite, including the tests thathold the proof's assumptions; and every result file the manuscript reports,as CSV and Markdown, one row per controller, training run and seed. A single script regenerates every table, figure and quoted number in themanuscript from those result files, and stops with an error if the textquotes a number the results do not define. The archive does not redistribute the Hangzhou flow files, for which thesource states no licence; a downloader fetches them, and the tables rebuildwithout them. The New Delhi demand profile is derived from a CC BY 4.0dataset and keeps its attribution. The code is MIT licensed. The result files are CC BY 4.0. Third-partydatasets keep their own terms.

Key Challenges in Software Startups Across Life Cycle Stages

It is found that what perceived as biggest challenges by software startups do vary across different life cycle stages, even though its significance decreases when the learning focuses of the startups move from problem to solution and their products mature.
