Abstract

Machines, Organizations, and Us: Managing in the Age of AI presents thirty eight Chapters that deal with the realities driven by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). This book focuses on how modern technologies have benefited us in myriad ways: In medicine, in productivity and efficiency, in entertainment, and in staying connected with worldwide friends and expanding our mental horizons. Today’s tech industry also has handed us several less happy consequences, causing us to fear, for example, surveillance and AI-related job losses. We need to deal with these intelligently, and, as the author would hope, without losing our technological optimism. The author's hope is that readers of this book will become effective (as well as passionate) thinkers and do-ers on the interface between people and technology.
