Abstract
Tetranychus cinnabarinus, a prominent mite in agricultural crops, has developed escalating resistance as a result of extensive and repeated chemical pesticide application. Consequently, it remains a quite urgent goal to identify novel structures with high efficacy to reduce resistance. In this study, a series of novel piperidine pyrimidinamine derivatives were designed and synthesized by employing the intermediate derivatization method (IDM) and then screened for their acaricidal activity. Bioassays indicated that most of the target compounds exhibited some acaricial activities against T. cinnabarinus; especially, the lead compounds 15 and 23 displayed excellent acaricidal activity with an LC50 of 1.55 mg/L and 1.46 mg/L, respectively, significantly better than the commercialized acaricide pyridaben. Their structure-activity relationship was discussed, and the field tests were also conducted. It was concluded that lead compounds 15 and 23 with a novel structure and excellent acaricidal potency were worthy of being further optimized for a promising agrochemical acaricide candidate.
BACKGROUND
Agricultural pests significantly reduce crop yields and threaten global food security. Chemical pesticides remain the primary means of pest control. In this study, celangulin V, a plant-derived insecticide, was used as a lead compound. Guided by three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship...

Paeonol is the main active ingredient in the Chinese medicinal herb peony root bark. In order to discover new compounds with high efficiency and broad-spectrum pesticide biological activity, twenty novel paeonol carbamate derivatives (1a-c, 2a-c, 3a-c, 4a-c, 5a-c, and 1-5dd') were designed and synthesized by ingeniousl...

A new series of triazole-based heterocyclic compounds was synthesized by good and efficient methods. The key triazole intermediate was further reacted with different aromatic aldehydes to afford chalcone derivatives, which were then converted into pyrazoline derivatives. Additional transformation of the thiosemicarbazi...

For decades, natural product‐derived insect repellents have been a major focus of research. Aconitine, a diterpene alkaloid isolated from Aconitum plants, exhibits not only significant antifeedant activity but also potent toxicological effects against certain insects. In this study, 48 novel aconitine derivatives were...
