TL;DR

Phytochemical investigation of the roots of Crepis napifera yielded six previously undescribed sesquiterpenoid derivatives, napifera A-F (1-5 and 16), together with 23 known compounds, which expand the known structural diversity of sesquiterpenoids from C. napifera.

Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of the roots of Crepis napifera yielded six previously undescribed sesquiterpenoid derivatives, napifera A-F (1-5 and 16), together with 23 known compounds. The new compounds comprised five non-glycosylated sesquiterpenoid-derived acids (1-5) and one acylated sesquiterpene lactone glucoside (16). Their structures were elucidated through spectroscopic and computational analyses. All isolates were evaluated for cytotoxicity against five tumor cell lines and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Compound 11 showed an IC50 of 14.38 ± 0.57 μM against HeLa cells and an MIC of 12.5 μg/mL against S. aureus. These findings expand the known structural diversity of sesquiterpenoids from C. napifera.

Cytotoxic metabolites from the endophytic fungus Aspergillus costaricensis y15

Eleven compounds (1–11), comprising two previously undescribed tetrahydrofuran derivatives (1–2) alongside nine recognized metabolites (3–11), were separated and purified from the EtOAc extract derived from the endophytic strain Aspergillus costaricensis. The structural determination of the compounds was achieved unamb...

Six new lignans from Heterosmilax yunnanensis and their hepatoprotective activity evaluation.

From the roots of Heterosmilax yunnanensis Gagnep., ten lignans were isolated, including six previously undescribed compounds (1-6) and four known compounds (7-10). Structurally, compounds 1 and 3 are novel examples of lignan-amino acid adducts in nature. The other compounds are all lignan glucosides. Their planar stru...

An Undescribed Ingenane Glucoside Isolated from the Roots of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud and Its Anti-inflammatory Activity

Abstract: A new compound, ingenol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) was isolated from the roots of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud. (Euphorbiaceae), together with four known compounds (2−5). The structure of compound 1 was characterized by a combination of spectroscopic techniques and X-ray crystallography. Moreover, biological...
