TL;DR

The survival analysis found that there is a relationship between the levels of AQP2 gene expression and overall survival rate of patients and AQP2 can be considered as an important marker for prognosis.

Abstract

In this research, differentially expressed genes in prostate cancer have been studied through TCGA database with the aim of elucidating on their functional features and predictive value. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were obtained using DESeq2 while enrichment analysis using GO and KEGG was used to examine their biological features. Survival analysis was used to determine their predictive value. It was determined that there are 123 differentially expressed genes (5 upregulated, 118 downregulated) in this cancer type. Through the enrichment analysis, it was established that these genes are mainly involved in regulation of peptidase activity, reproduction, and neuroactive ligand-receptor interactions. The survival analysis found that there is a relationship between the levels of AQP2 gene expression and overall survival rate of patients (P = 0.0098). Therefore, AQP2 can be considered as an important marker for prognosis.

Elucidation of putative key genes involved in triple-negative breast cancer progression

The molecular basis of TNBC development is poorly understood. Therefore, it is of interest to identify key genes and pathways involved in TNBC development and progression using a systems biology approach, followed by experimental validation. Gene ontology and KEGG enrichment analyses were performed to identify DEG-regu...

Integrated Transcriptomic and Immune Landscape Profiling Identifies CXCR2 and IL1RN as Key Immune-Related Downregulated Genes in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

BACKGROUND Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is among the most common head and neck cancers, representing about 90% of all cases. Despite advances in treatment, the prognosis remains poor, mainly owing to the complex immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. METHODS The GEO2R tool was used to screen differentially...

Prognostic value of melatonin-related signature genes in lung adenocarcinoma

Purpose Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), the most prevalent lung cancer subtype, has witnessed a dramatic upsurge in frequency over the past 20 years. This study intended to construct a predictive risk model and analyze melatonin (ME)-associated genes in LUAD. Methods Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were found by usin...
