This study develops a design procedure for electromechanical regenerative dampers using recorded damper stroke, velocity, and force from city, highway, country, and rough-road driving. The signals are converted into directional force, mechanical-power, energy-coverage, and operating-duty requirements. Motor size, gear ratio, lever ratio, power-network limits, packaging, and reflected inertia are screened, and 12 V and 48 V configurations are selected separately. Force tracking is checked with a prescribed-motion actuator model, and the selected designs are compared with a hydraulic reference in a quarter-car model under paired ISO Class B/80, C/60, and D/40 km/h inputs. The design points include 0.4 kW at 0.30 m/s, 0.6 kW for continuous-load screening, and 2.3 kW for 95% mechanical-energy coverage per damper. On the selected Class D/40 km/h input, the interface-force NRMSE is 52.3% for the 12 V configuration and 23.5% for the 48 V configuration. This is a comparison of two complete system designs, and prototype validation remains necessary.
In order to improve ride comfort, mounting system was required to effectively isolate the vibrations generated by the engine, preventing them from being transmitted to the vehicle body and the cabin, while ensuring that the displacement of the powertrain remains within controllable limits under various operating cond...
A novel energy-regenerative hydraulically interconnected ISD (inerter–spring–damper) suspension system (ER-HIISDS) is proposed by incorporating a fluid inerter into the hydraulic interconnection architecture, with the objective of simultaneously enhancing vehicle ride quality and vehicle stability while recovering susp...

Non-linear vibrations in heavy trucks affect transportation efficiency, vehicle durability, and operational safety. They arise from interactions among suspension components, tire–road dynamics, and varying payloads, increasing fuel consumption, component wear, and cargo damage. This study reviews advances in the charac...

Vehicle suspension systems are essential for ensuring both handling stability and passenger comfort. Conventional passive suspensions exhibit deficiencies when adapting to intricate and fluctuating road surfaces. While conventional control techniques such as LQR and PID are prevalent, they fall short in managing the me...
During transient maneuvers such as emergency braking and steering, the cab attitude of a commercial vehicle may change abruptly, thereby posing a potential risk to driving safety. To address this issue, this study investigates a cab attitude control method for a specific commercial vehicle under braking and steering co...
