Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) through Employee Engagement among employees of the Maluku Province Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service. The study used a quantitative approach with a sample of 60 employees determined through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS. The results showed that job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on Employee Engagement and OCB. Organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect on Employee Engagement, but did not have a significant direct effect on OCB. Furthermore, Employee Engagement had a positive and significant effect on OCB and was proven to mediate the influence of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on OCB. These findings indicate that Employee Engagement has an important role in encouraging the formation of OCB behavior. Therefore, increasing job satisfaction, strengthening organizational commitment, and creating employee involvement in work need to be a concern in supporting positive behavior and employee contributions outside of formal duties.
