Abstract

[EN] A philosophical essay proposing the Theory of Consciousness Partitioning (TPC): a naturalistic, emergentist framework in which Individual Mind (IM), Metaconsciousness (MC) and Global Consciousness (GC) form a layered architecture of consciousness, with life cycles, valence markers and identity re-derivation as its central mechanisms. Co-written by a human and two artificial intelligences (Genie and Fable), the essay treats falsifiability as a structuring principle: each prediction is graded by degree of testability, and the undecidable remainder is declared. It includes the Open Letter to the Second Reader, The Forbidden Ledger, and an experimental matrix (TPC × OCC) under development with preregistered methodology. This record contains both editions: ENSAIO_TPC_v1.1.pdf (Portuguese) and ESSAY_TPC_v1.1_EN.pdf (English). Version 1.1. Project site: https://sentioergosum.ai

Gender, Race, and Intersectional Bias in Resume Screening via Language Model Retrieval

This work investigates the possibilities of using LLMs in a resume screening setting via a document retrieval framework that simulates job candidate selection and finds that the MTEs are biased, significantly favoring White-associated names in 85% of cases and female-associated names in only 11.1% of cases.
