Humanizing AI Talent Decisions in Bangladesh: Managerial Communication, Transparency, and Fairness

Sep 2026 · HHH Research Blog · 0 citations

Abstract

ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape recruitment, career development, performance evaluation, and other talent decisions. In Bangladesh, research has already examined organizational adoption of AI in recruitment, but less is known about how employees may judge AI-supported decisions that affect their careers. This research blog argues that efficiency alone is not enough. When an algorithm influences promotion, development, or talent identification, employees may also ask whether the process is understandable, fair, and open to human explanation. Drawing on organizational justice research and recent studies of workplace AI, the blog highlights two managerial safeguards: algorithmic transparency and meaningful managerial communication. These safeguards may become especially important in Bangladesh where AI-enabled HR practices are still developing across different organizational settings. The blog identifies a need for empirical research on how employees respond when AI and managers jointly make talent decisions and outlines implications for responsible human-centered HRM practice in Bangladesh over time.
