Trauma to the upper limb represents a major clinical challenge because successful treatment requires restoration not only of skeletal stability but also of movement, sensation, vascularity, soft-tissue coverage, and fine hand function. Upper-limb trauma encompasses injuries ranging from isolated fractures and dislocations to complex open fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, vascular disruption, degloving injuries, and mangled extremities. Recent advances have shifted management from conventional fracture fixation toward a multidisciplinary, function-oriented, and patient-specific approach. Modern trends include early assessment using high-resolution radiography and computed tomography, selective use of three-dimensional reconstruction and printing, minimally invasive and percutaneous fixation, locking plates and intramedullary devices, and increasing use of arthroplasty for selected complex proximal humeral fractures. In severe open injuries, the orthoplastic concept integrates orthopaedic stabilization with early vascular and soft-tissue reconstruction. Microsurgical replantation, free tissue transfer, nerve transfers, and targeted reconstructive procedures have expanded the possibilities of limb salvage. Contemporary rehabilitation emphasizes early protected mobilization, hand therapy, and individualized return-to-function protocols rather than prolonged immobilization. Digital technologies, patient-specific implants, and emerging artificial intelligence applications may further improve precision and treatment personalization, although clinical evidence remains heterogeneous. This narrative review discusses current trends in the evaluation and management of upper-limb trauma, emphasizing the transition from fracture healing alone toward preservation and restoration of the entire functional upper extremity.

This work proposes a HALO that directly maximizes the utility of generations instead of maximizing the log-likelihood of preferences, and suggests that the best loss depends on the inductive biases most appropriate for a given setting, an oft-overlooked consideration.
This work investigates the possibilities of using LLMs in a resume screening setting via a document retrieval framework that simulates job candidate selection and finds that the MTEs are biased, significantly favoring White-associated names in 85% of cases and female-associated names in only 11.1% of cases.
This work shows that orders of magnitude enhancement in performance could be obtained by a combination of hardware improvements and tight quantum-HPC integration and introduces high-performance architectures for quantum-probabilistic computing with custom-designed accelerators to tackle today's industry-scale classical...
