Abstract

Data and metadata for paper published in Earth System Science Data: EEAR-Clim v2.0: A high-density and multi-variable observational dataset for the Extended European Alpine Region Data: Daily time series of air temperature (mean, minimum and maximum), precipitation, surface pressure, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, global radiation, snow depth, snowfall and cloud cover as .zip files, grouped by data provider. Information on column content is provided in separate files "data_readme.txt" about 14000 stations from Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary Meta data (code, name, longitude, latitude, elevation, measurements availability for each variable, starting date, ending date) in "metadata.zip", including a file for each data provider If you use the data you agree to adhere to the respective data provider's terms as listed in "License.pdf" The license terms especially (and additionally to any other terms of the single data providers) include: Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...

What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us

Jennifer Neville did not want to go into computer science—but that’s exactly where she landed. Neville discusses the starts and stops that led to her professional sweet spot and her work identifying “surprising failures” making it hard for AI to handle complexity.  The post What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us appeared first on Microsoft Research.
