Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in elementary schools requires contextual conceptual understanding; however, student achievement remains low due to passive instructional practices that fail to accommodate diverse learning styles. This study aimed to determine the effect of the quantum teaching learning model on the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Swasta Cenderamata in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, selecting 28 students from class V-A as the research participants. Data were gathered through a 20-item multiple-choice cognitive achievement test with verified validity and reliability, supported by an instructional implementation questionnaire. The results demonstrated that the average pretest score increased from 62.57 to 84.00 in the posttest following the implementation of the quantum teaching model. The correlation coefficient analysis yielded an r_"count" of 0.834, which exceeded the r_"table" value of 0.388 at the 5% significance level. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing using the t-test revealed t_"count" =7.700, surpassing t_"table" =2.048 (p=0.000<0.05), thus confirming the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H_a). It can be concluded that the quantum teaching learning model exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on elementary school students' IPAS learning outcomes.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us

Jennifer Neville did not want to go into computer science—but that’s exactly where she landed. Neville discusses the starts and stops that led to her professional sweet spot and her work identifying “surprising failures” making it hard for AI to handle complexity.  The post What AI gets wrong and what failure teaches us appeared first on Microsoft Research.
