From Quantity to Quality: Integrative Management in the Quran Memorization (Tahfidz) Program at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah
Abstract
The quality of the memorization of the Qur’an is a multidimensional construct that is not limited to quantity alone. This qualitative research, conducted as a case study, aims to describe the management of the Qur’an memorization program for students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Ahqof Getas Wonopringgo in Pekalongan Regency and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. Data were collected using triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the tahfidz program at the school is managed through the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. Its implementation integrates memorization targets, role allocation, talaqqi, tikrar, muroja’ah, recitation, monitoring, and periodic evaluation. The program’s success is supported by the madrasah’s commitment, teacher competence, parental support, and a religious environment. Meanwhile, challenges include time constraints, heterogeneity in students’ abilities, and inconsistencies in muroja’ah. This study’s findings confirm that the quality of memorization is shaped by the integration of institutional management, pedagogy, and family involvement.
