Abstract

High rate of digitalization of the healthcare systems has led to the creation of huge amounts of sensitive patient information that need to be safely disseminated among healthcare providers. Nevertheless, the use of the traditional centralized healthcare information systems is associated with major difficulties associated with data security, protection of privacy, interoperability, and accessibility in real time. Blockchain has become a potential answer to decentralized and safe management of data within healthcare settings. This paper suggests a blockchain-based secure architecture on smart systems of patient data sharing in real-time. The framework suggested in this paper incorporates blockchain technology, distributed storage, and access control protocols which are secure and tamper-proof to provide transparent, privacy-preserving, and tamper-resistant medical data exchange. Access authorization is automated using smart contracts and an audit trail of data transactions is kept in an immutable way. Experimental analysis shows that the suggested system outperforms the traditional healthcare data sharing systems in terms of data security, efficiency in access, and interoperability. The framework offers a scalable and secure platform of next-generation smart healthcare ecosystems.
