Ontropy: Ontological Orientation as a Solution to the Problem of Individuation

Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy

Abstract

This paper reconstructs Ontropy (Ontropi / Yönelim Ontolojisi I) as a systematic philosophical research program centered on the category of ontological orientation. Beginning from a priority argument establishing Being as ontologically prior to certainty, the system poses the classical problem of individuation in formal terms: given Being's unity and indivisibility, what structure explains genuine difference among existents? Testing seven rival candidates—participation, causality, dependence, manifestation, gradation (teşkîk), Spinozan modus, and pure relationality—against two adequacy conditions (differentiation and immanence), the text arrives at orientation as the minimal category satisfying both. The paper's most rigorously demonstrated result, the Ω-Priority Argument, shows orientation to be a type-level ontological determination irreducible to token-level grounding relations. The reconstruction traces the system's extensions into epistemology (via the NOESIS/noeon apparatus and its revision of Kant), philosophy of mind (a two-tier ontological/phenomenal account of freedom and determinism), and value theory, while documenting its explicit, partial concessions to Heidegger's onto-theological objection and Harman's overmining critique. Consistent with the source text's own epistemic discipline, the paper distinguishes formally established results from axiomatic stipulations and open problems, and reports that no connection to the author's separately named projects (POM, NOESIS-AI) is established within this text.
