A data-driven elastic-net support vector machine is proposed that learns simplex-constrained weights over candidate pinball losses while retaining one classifier, and a column-partitioned variable-splitting solver is developed.
Abstract
The pinball-loss support vector machine is robust, but its asymmetry parameter is usually fixed in advance. We propose a data-driven elastic-net support vector machine that learns simplex-constrained weights over candidate pinball losses while retaining one classifier. The weighted loss is equivalent to a pinball loss with a data-dependent effective parameter. An empirical oracle inequality shows that, when weight regularization and simplex truncation vanish, the classifier objective at a global minimizer does not exceed that of the best fixed candidate; otherwise, the excess is explicitly bounded. For high-dimensional data, we develop a column-partitioned variable-splitting solver. It converges with a best-iterate $O(1/T)$ squared-step residual rate. Under common initialization and global parameters, any column partition produces, in exact arithmetic, the same iterates and solution as centralized training. Experiments assess predictive behavior, numerical equivalence, and multi-process scalability.
A novel asymmetric, robust, bounded, sparse and smooth (aR) loss function for $l_1-norm penalized geometric twin SVM (aRSGTSVM) to handle classification and regression tasks and develops a fast and stable proximal gradient descent based solving algorithm.
How much risk does a small reweighted training support retain? For finite weighted least squares with the minimum-norm learner, we prove the exact law $\Gamma_d(n)=3-n/d$ throughout $\lceil3d/2\rceil\leq n\leq2d-1$. The guarantee covers every observed feature rank and uses selections that preserve the full feature span...
Diagnostics limit explanations based solely on terminal optimization accuracy and distinguish numerical cost from quality, rank coverage and freshness; they establish neither practical-tracker convergence nor predictive or deployment benefits from basis availability.
Weightless Fine-Tuning is proposed, a training-free decoding-time method that approximates the distributional effect of SFT without weight updates and achieves the best average performance across datasets, matches or exceeds SFT on individual tasks, and outperforms other lightweight baselines on average.

Preference optimization is a standard alignment method for generative models, yet extending it to continuous-time dynamics remains non-trivial. In flow matching, reward-driven updates modify transport trajectories without an inherent constraint to the pretrained data manifold and can move terminal samples off the pretr...

DESS is introduced, a lightweight uncertainty layer that augments an existing embedding model with a predicted mean vector and an independent per-dimension spread vector that provides a modular, geometry-aware uncertainty layer for embedding-space models, provided its spread is calibrated to local embedding geometry.
