Abstract
This paper presents a Ka-band substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) band-pass filter based on through silicon via (TSV) technology. A tapered coupling slot transition structure is adopted to achieve a smooth transition from ground coplanar waveguide (GCPW) to SIW within a wide frequency band of 20~42GHz. The measured in-band insertion loss of the transition structure is -1.23 dB. Three resonant cavities are added to achieve third-order filtering. Magnetic coupling is achieved by opening windows at the positions of maximum magnetic field intensity between adjacent resonant cavities. Adjusting the window size can alter the coupling coefficient between the cavities, thus making the frequencies of the corresponding resonant points approach or move away from each other. The measured insertion loss of the filter is -2.5 dB at the center frequency of 28.65 GHz with a return loss below -20 dB, and the relative bandwidth is 12.2%. The simulation and measured curves are highly consistent.
This paper presents a millimeter-wave dual-band bandpass filter based on a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The dual-band response is realized by embedding two pairs of complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs) with different dimensions in the SIW cavity. Their geometry-dependent resonances introduce frequency-s...

— This paper introduces a hybrid coupler based on SIW technology at 26 GHz and 28 GHz. High losses from the components due to the low wavelength are expected at Ka-band, primarily when planar technology is implemented. Hence, SIW structures are introduced to overcome these losses. A designed coupler based on the direct...

This paper presents a D-band transition between a WR-6 air-filled rectangular waveguide and a substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) on a two-layer PCB. The transition employs an aperture-coupled patch along with surrounding inductive vias to convert the TE10 mode to the SIW mode. Simulation results show that the single...

This paper presents the utilization of a half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) cavity loaded with a meandered slot line (MSL) to design a miniaturized a 2nd order tri-band bandpass filter (BPF). The MSL was employed to independently control the operating passbands and to reduce the filter size. A systematic...

In this study, bandpass waveguide filters with resonant frequencies of 5.5 GHz, 6 GHz, and 6.5 GHz are simulated and fabricated by Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling method. Then, the simulated and measured performance parameters are obtained and compared from 1st order to 7th filter order. By using the same WR-1...

In this paper, a symmetric multi-stub resonator (SMSR) is proposed for the design of millimeter-wave on-chip bandpass filters (BPFs) with wide bandwidths, low insertion losses (ILs), and compact sizes. The multimode resonant characteristics are investigated and can be adjusted by varying the dimensions of the SMSR, ena...
