Your Navigator is Ableist: The Distorted Twin and Constitutional Topology of Sovereign Routing in Smart Cities

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

Abstract What happens when algebra usurps political power? Studies in digital mobility predominantly focus on utilitarian geometric route optimization. However, this paradigm overlooks the fact that navigation algorithms operate as concealed normative actors, thereby distributing the right to the city. Drawing upon a synthesis of transport justice theory, geoinformatics, and the political philosophy of Algorithmic Governmentality, this paper conceptualizes the "Distorted Digital Twin"—an urban simulation that conserves historical spatial discrimination and produces Epistemic Injustice against individuals with reduced mobility. To counteract Algorithmic Ableism, the study introduces the Sovereign Access Functional $\mathcal{F}_{SD}(p)$, designed for the $A^*$ heuristic search. The proposed cascade mathematical model establishes a structural priority for corporeal autonomy through the Topological Rupture mechanism. It integrates temporal fuzzy logic for the dynamic evaluation of Relational Barrierness alongside the multidimensional Algorithmic Subordination Index $Z(e)$, which serves as a computable measure of corporate spatial hegemony. The application of the Asymptotic Compression of Spatial Anomalies within the objective function precludes the mathematical justification of physical risks through infinite time economy. To protect the subject from cognitive exhaustion and algorithmic paternalism, the architecture implements the Shadow Routing Protocol. By computing the Sovereign Sacrifice Scalar Index, the system explicitly visualizes the institutional cost of bypassing monopolized spaces, reserving the right of final choice for the human. Furthermore, to overcome the extractivism of smart urbanism, the paper substantiates a transition toward Phenomenological Edge ML and federated learning, which establishes the Epistemic Solidarity of marginalized groups without violating their privacy. The epistemological viability of mathematically encoding Constitutional Topology is demonstrated through a conceptual simulation based on empirical data from a participatory spatial audit. Within the philosophy of technology, this inquiry proves the capacity of engineering code to function as a micro-constitutional safeguard generating continuous Institutional Friction to protect mobility under conditions of infrastructural monopolization.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
