Trace-IN625: a source aware literature derived dataset of tensile properties and microstructure for additively manufactured IN625

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

Trace-IN625 is a source-aware, literature-derived dataset of tensile properties and supporting microstructure information for additively manufactured IN625. It organizes published measurements into individually retrievable material-condition records, preserving source references, processing and heat-treatment information, measurement definitions and test context where available. The resource supports literature-based comparison of tensile properties and inspection of the published evidence associated with reported material states. The literature index contains 305 publications, of which 72 contribute the 149 retained tensile-property records. These records contain 391 populated property values: 114 yield-strength values, 139 ultimate-tensile-strength values and 138 elongation values. The tensile layer distinguishes 120 IN625 records from 29 records concerning IN625-containing composite, graded or joined materials, enabling users to select the relevant material population before analysis. The release comprises six core tables in UTF-8 CSV format: papers.csv — 305 records: bibliographic information and identifiers for the indexed source publications. specimens.csv — 482 records: specimen labels, material states or source conditions, with associated processing and post-treatment information. These entries do not represent 482 independent experimental replicates. tensile_properties.csv — 149 records: reported tensile properties, measurement definitions, test conditions, source locators and available uncertainty information. microstructure_records.csv — 2,206 records: microstructure descriptions and source-text or figure evidence. This layer is predominantly descriptive and indexed evidence, rather than a collection of quantitative microstructural measurements. figure_index.csv — 2,263 records: indexed source figures or graphical objects, including provenance and public-crop availability. image_crops_manifest.csv — 280 records: metadata for the 280 released PNG crops, including identifiers, file paths, checksums, dimensions, source attribution and licence information. The package also includes a data dictionary, controlled vocabularies, source-review records, validation outputs, plotting data, retrieval examples and executable release-checking scripts. Linked identifiers connect publications, material conditions, tensile records and figure evidence. Source checking combines AI-assisted comparison with the publications and author review; accompanying software checks assess relational consistency and deposited-file integrity. Reuse should account for material scope, processing state, measurement definition, temperature and loading direction. Missing values and unspecified uncertainties must not be interpreted as zero. Qualitative room-temperature descriptions are retained separately from numerical temperatures, and explicitly identified true-strain values remain distinguishable from other elongation quantities. The image collection provides contextual evidence from published figures. It does not contain instrument-native characterization data or raw EBSD orientation maps, and shared publication identifiers do not establish specimen-level correspondence between micrographs and tensile measurements. Structured metadata are released under CC BY 4.0. Third-party image crops retain their recorded source-specific licences; attribution and modification details are provided in image_crops_manifest.csv and LICENSING.md. Full source PDFs are not included.

Requirements Don’t Live in Isolation: What We’re Exploring with Req-Space

Requirements in large systems rarely exist in isolation. Their meaning depends on the wider project context - other requirements, policies, decisions, tests, and implementation details. That becomes especially important when AI is used for review, because spotting a possible conflict or gap is only the beginning. ReqSpace explores how AI, visualisation, and connected project context can help reviewers understand those findings, trace the relationships behind them, and focus on the questions that…
