Code and data for: How many directional moments are enough? Sharp symmetry-aware wave-excitation certificates for offshore structures

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

This version extends the original research dataset supporting “How many directional moments are enough? Sharp symmetry-aware wave-excitation certificates for offshore structures”. It retains the original version 1.0.0 archive and adds the revision code and data: 144 synthetic response evaluations, 576 measured-wave-input evaluations, discrete Shannon maximum-entropy and cosine-power reconstructions, conditional LP probabilities and dual bounds, frequency-level and aggregate results, diagnostics, timing records, and figure source data. The solver-configuration addendum contains the saved conditional-LP inputs, two minimal counterexamples, backend and scaling controls, actual version/build fingerprints, and independent exact-integer checks. The HiGHS 1.12.0 controls accept all 2,300 conditional LP pairs and 144 aggregates, with the reported outer bounds reproduced value for value from saved inputs. These controls cover conditional LPs and aggregation; the original complete-entry and historical execution records retain their separate status. Cosine-power fitting results retain their moment residuals. The guarantees concern the specified discrete model. A separate mechanism-evidence addendum traces the two counterexamples to solver-internal branches, with fixed inputs, minimal NumPy/SciPy reproducers, C++ source, diagnostic interventions, saved traces, and exact-certificate checks. The reference configuration avoids these paths; the local interventions restore acceptance and are not production fixes. The upstream issue is prepared but remains unposted. Its draft is included with the code. This two-case diagnosis is separate from the conditional-LP matrix controls. The guarantee-evidence addendum supplies exact nonnegative witnesses for all 11,221 saved conditional constraint systems, plus 44,784 exact measured endpoint witnesses and inner-width aggregates. Independent integer and rational checks verify all 4,600 synthetic and 44,784 measured dual endpoints and all 720 corresponding aggregate cases. The measured inner and outer widths classify all 576 evaluations without an unresolved 5% decision. Separate numerical summaries give both-sided threshold margins for universal orders, symmetry residuals, the 36-bearing sweep and moment-origin source definitions. These are post-processing checks of existing results; no response optimization matrix was rerun. The figure-source addendum supplies the current framework figure using an actual OC4 force kernel and its saved order-two and order-six best-uniform approximants, together with the current four-panel measured-record figure. It includes editable artwork, compact plotting inputs, reproducible drawing scripts and checksums. The measured-record data are unchanged; these drawing sources supersede the earlier artwork versions retained in the historical archives. Original software is released under the MIT License; original data, documentation and figures under CC BY 4.0. NOAA/NDBC and OpenFAST/r-test materials retain their upstream terms, described in the original archive. Manuscripts, reviewer correspondence and private author-review records are excluded.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Requirements Don’t Live in Isolation: What We’re Exploring with Req-Space

Requirements in large systems rarely exist in isolation. Their meaning depends on the wider project context - other requirements, policies, decisions, tests, and implementation details. That becomes especially important when AI is used for review, because spotting a possible conflict or gap is only the beginning. ReqSpace explores how AI, visualisation, and connected project context can help reviewers understand those findings, trace the relationships behind them, and focus on the questions that…
