Reclassified US Empirical Seed Transfer Zones

Sep 2026 · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Abstract

Files and variables File: Data.zip Description: This directory contains the aggregated tabular information from scoring eSTZ data products, as well as a handful of other files used in post-processing datasets. File: scripts.zip Description: Scripts for creating figures used in this manuscript and in an earlier poster. File: eSTZs_RetroactivelyReclassified.gpkg Description: This geopackage has one layer for each empirical seed transfer zone data product which the authors had access to. It includes running all steps of the eSTZwritR (R package) on these datasets, including RE-CLASSIFYING the original seed zone numbers. THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED as a simple aggregate of these data sets; the zone numbers DO NOT MATCH the historical data sets. File: RetroactivelyStandardized.gpkg Description: This geopackage has a layer for each eSTZ reviewed in this manuscript. They have had all eSTZwritR steps run on them, except for re-ordering seed zone numbers. This is the dataset to use if you are interested in spinning up a quick synthesis using all products etc. File: RetroactivelyStandardized.zip Description: This directory has a subdirectory for each eSTZ reviewed in this manuscript. They have had all eSTZwritR steps run on them, except for re-ordering seed zone numbers. This is the dataset to use if you are interested in spinning up a quick synthesis using all products etc. Code/software Most GIS software should do. QGIS is tested extensively, as is R; Python should work flawlessly, and ESRI products should be fine too. Google Earth is an unknown. Access information Other publicly accessible locations of the data: None, WWETAC (Western Wildland Environmental Threat Evaluation Center) Seed Zone Viewer has the raw data, which should be suitable for most analysis. Note the web address keeps changing so it isn't provided here.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
