Sestrin2 mitigates obesity-associated HFpEF via adaptive IRE1α-XBP1 signaling and redox regulation.

It is demonstrated that Sestrin2 has cardioprotective effects on obesity-associated HFpEF and is associated with the activation of adaptive IRE1α-XBP1 signaling involving Sigmar1, together with improved metabolic and redox homeostasis.

BDNF-related brain–liver communication in metabolic syndrome: implications for anxiety and depression

Abstract Metabolic syndrome is frequently accompanied by anxiety and depression, suggesting interactions between metabolic dysfunction and affective regulation. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its high-affinity receptor tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB) are involved in energy balance, neuroplasticity, s...

Ferroptosis-Targeted Strategies to Counter Hypoxia- and Acidosis-Associated Immunosuppression in the Tumor Microenvironment.

Immunotherapy has transformed cancer treatment, yet its efficacy in solid tumors remains constrained by primary or acquired resistance. Increasing evidence suggests that ferroptosis sensitivity is shaped not only by tumor intrinsic metabolic programs but also by the surrounding microenvironment. Ferroptosis, an iron-de...

The Mediating Role of Atherogenic Index of Plasma in the Association Between Dietary Inflammatory Index and Metabolic Syndrome: Evidence from NHANES and CHARLS

AIP is a key mediator linking proinflammatory diets to MetS, supporting the diet–inflammation–lipid axis and identifying targets for precision prevention.

Programmed cell death in kidney disease: integrated crosstalk among ferroptosis, pyroptosis, apoptosis, and cuproptosis

A “metabolic crisis-cascade” framework is proposed, in which progressive disruption of energy metabolism, redox balance, and metal homeostasis acts as a unifying upstream mechanism linking multiple PCD pathways during kidney injury and preventing AKI-to-CKD transition.

Exploring Causal Links Between 91 Circulating Inflammatory Proteins and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: A Bidirectional Mendelian Randomization Study

This study suggests that IL‐12p40 is probably one of the factors correlated with HT etiology, contributing to a better understanding of the pathogenesis of HT and underscoring the potential for therapeutic interventions targeting inflammatory proteins.

Ischemic Heart Disease in G20 Countries: Forecasted Burden and Regional Disparities Based on GBD 2023 Estimates.

The G20 has achieved substantial but uneven reductions in IHD burden, with early signs of reversal, demographic pressures, and expanding environmental risks, but targeted, stage-specific cardiovascular strategies will be required to sustain progress and reduce disparities through mid-century.

Rising Global Burden and Sex Disparities in Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer: 1990-2021 Trends With Projections to 2036.

The global burden of NMSC is rising, and men consistently experience higher incidence, mortality, and DALY rates than women, and the expanding sex gap highlights the urgent need for targeted and sex-specific prevention, early detection, and public health interventions.
