Deciphering the role of the methylcitrate cycle in propionate detoxification during odd-chain fatty acid metabolism in Mycobacterium kansasii
It is revealed that the MCC may act as a key metabolic pathway for propionate detoxification in M. kansasii, and the successful generation of mutants indicates that CRISPR-Cas9 is an effective approach for genetic manipulation in this species.
