Digital technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, blockchain, and the Internet of Things have enhanced administrative efficiency, improved public service delivery, and promoted transparency. At the same time, these technological advancements have intensified concerns regarding data privacy, surveillance, unauthorized data processing, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfers. Consequently, the protection of personal information has emerged as a significant legal and policy challenge across jurisdictions. This paper presents a comparative legal analysis of major data protection regimes, focusing on the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and selected international legal frameworks. It examines the fundamental principles governing personal data protection, including lawfulness, transparency, accountability, purpose limitation, data minimization, and individual rights. The study further explores the challenges posed by emerging technologies, governmental surveillance, algorithmic decision-making, and international data flows within the broader framework of digital governance. By critically comparing legislative approaches and regulatory mechanisms, the paper identifies best practices and existing legal gaps. It concludes that effective data governance requires harmonized legal standards, stronger institutional oversight, technological safeguards, and international cooperation to ensure that innovation and digital transformation are balanced with the protection of individual privacy and fundamental human rights.

While these technologies offer significant advantages in terms of efficiency, consistency, and innovation, they also raise serious legal and ethical concerns regarding algorithmic bias, discrimination, transparency, accountability, and the protection of fundamental rights. Algorithmic bias may arise from biased datasets, flawed design, or unequal representation, leading to discriminatory outcomes against individuals based on race, gender, ethnicity, disability, age, religion, or socio-economic status. Such outcomes challenge the constitutional principle of equality before the law and undermine public confidence in automated decision-making systems. While these technological advancements offer significant benefits, they also raise important legal and ethical concerns regarding fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy, judicial independence, and algorithmic bias. Unlike conventional decision-making processes, AI systems often function through complex algorithms that may lack explainability, making it difficult to understand how judicial recommendations are generated. Such opacity challenges fundamental principles of due process, equality before the law, and the right to a fair trial. Furthermore, concerns regarding data protection, cybersecurity, discrimination, and the allocation of legal responsibility for AI-generated decisions have intensified debates among policymakers, legal scholars, and judicial institutions. This paper critically examines the legal and ethical dimensions of AI in judicial decision-making through a comparative analysis of emerging regulatory approaches in jurisdictions such as the European Union, the United States, China, and India. The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into agriculture has emerged as a revolutionary approach for developing smart agricultural systems capable of improving productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability. Traditional farming methods often face challenges such as climate variability, water scarcity, increasing input costs, labour shortages, and inefficient resource utilization. IoT-based smart agriculture addresses these challenges by connecting sensors, devices, machines, and digital platforms to collect, transmit, and analyse real-time agricultural data. IoT technologies enable continuous monitoring of soil moisture, temperature, humidity, nutrient availability, crop growth, pest incidence, weather conditions, and livestock health, allowing farmers to make accurate and timely decisions. Smart sensors, wireless communication networks, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and automated control systems support precision irrigation, intelligent fertilization, disease detection, greenhouse management, and farm automation. These applications enhance crop productivity, reduce input wastage, conserve natural resources, and improve economic returns for farmers. Furthermore, IoT-based agricultural systems contribute to climate-smart farming by providing early warning mechanisms for extreme weather events and optimizing resource use under changing climatic conditions. Despite its potential benefits, the adoption of IoT in agriculture faces challenges including high installation costs, limited digital infrastructure, data security concerns, technical complexity, and inadequate farmer awareness. This study explores the applications of IoT technologies in smart agricultural systems, highlighting their role in precision farming, resource management, decision support, and sustainable agricultural development. Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance has emerged as a critical framework guiding corporate governance, sustainable development, and responsible investment across the globe. Increasing concerns regarding climate change, environmental degradation, human rights violations, labor standards, and corporate accountability have encouraged governments and regulatory authorities to introduce mandatory ESG disclosure requirements and sustainability reporting frameworks. ESG compliance extends beyond voluntary corporate social responsibility initiatives by integrating legal obligations, ethical business practices, and risk management strategies into organizational decision-making. International initiatives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Paris Climate Agreement, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) have significantly influenced national legal systems and corporate governance standards. In India, regulatory institutions including the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), and environmental legislations have strengthened ESG-related reporting through the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR). Emerging legal perspectives focus on climate litigation, mandatory due diligence, green finance regulations, carbon disclosure obligations, stakeholder rights, diversity and inclusion, and board accountability. Simultaneously, organizations face challenges such as regulatory fragmentation, greenwashing, inconsistent reporting standards, and enforcement limitations. This study explores the evolving legal framework governing ESG compliance, analyzes emerging global and Indian legal developments, identifies implementation challenges, and discusses future opportunities for harmonized sustainability governance. Drought has become one of the most severe environmental constraints affecting global agricultural productivity due to climate change, increasing temperatures, irregular rainfall patterns, and declining freshwater availability. Water scarcity significantly limits crop growth, reduces nutrient uptake, disrupts physiological processes, and ultimately decreases crop yield and food security. The development of drought-tolerant crop varieties has therefore become a critical strategy for achieving climate-resilient agriculture and ensuring sustainable food production. Advances in plant breeding, biotechnology, molecular genetics, genomic selection, and precision agriculture have accelerated the development of crop varieties capable of maintaining productivity under water-limited conditions. These varieties exhibit improved root architecture, efficient water-use mechanisms, enhanced osmotic regulation, greater photosynthetic efficiency, and increased tolerance to heat and drought stress. This study examines the development and evaluation of drought-tolerant crop varieties for climate-resilient agriculture. It explores the physiological and genetic mechanisms underlying drought tolerance, evaluates breeding approaches and biotechnological innovations, analyzes the role of digital technologies and precision agriculture in drought management, and discusses future policy interventions for promoting climate-resilient farming systems. The study concludes that integrating advanced breeding technologies, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, genomic tools, and sustainable agricultural practices can significantly improve crop resilience under changing climatic conditions. Strengthening research, farmer participation, institutional support, and international collaboration will be essential for developing drought-resilient agricultural systems capable of ensuring food security, conserving water resources, and promoting sustainable agricultural development in the face of increasing climate variability.

Efficient nutrient management is essential for improving the productivity, quality, and sustainability of vegetable production systems. Vegetable crops require adequate and balanced nutrient supplies because of their rapid growth, short cropping duration, and high nutrient demand. Traditionally, inorganic fertilizers have been widely used to achieve higher yields; however, excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers has resulted in declining soil fertility, nutrient imbalances, environmental pollution, and increased production costs. In contrast, organic nutrient management utilizes farmyard manure, compost, vermicompost, green manure, crop residues, biofertilizers, and other organic amendments to improve soil health, microbial activity, and long-term agricultural sustainability. Both nutrient management systems possess distinct advantages and limitations with respect to nutrient availability, crop productivity, product quality, soil fertility, and environmental impacts. Recent agricultural research emphasizes integrated nutrient management (INM), which combines organic and inorganic nutrient sources to maximize crop yield while maintaining soil health and minimizing ecological degradation. Advanced technologies such as precision nutrient management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and soil testing support efficient nutrient application according to crop requirements. AI systems increasingly influence employment opportunities, judicial decisions, healthcare diagnoses, financial services, and public administration, making fairness, accountability, and ethical governance essential. Human rights principles such as equality, dignity, autonomy, privacy, and non-discrimination must therefore be integrated into the design, deployment, and regulation of intelligent technologies. The present study examines the impact of e-governance initiatives on public service delivery, citizen satisfaction, and administrative transparency in developing economies. E-governance uses information and communication technologies to make government services more accessible, efficient, accountable, and citizen-centred. In developing economies, digital platforms such as online portals, mobile applications, digital identity systems, grievance redressal systems, e-payment services, and online certificates have transformed the interaction between citizens and government institutions. The study explores how e-governance improves service speed, reduces paperwork, minimizes corruption, enhances transparency, and strengthens public trust. Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing global challenges of the twenty-first century, posing significant threats to ecosystems, human rights, public health, economic development, and sustainable governance. As the adverse impacts of climate change intensify, litigation has become an increasingly important legal mechanism for enforcing environmental obligations, holding governments and corporations accountable, and protecting the rights of vulnerable communities. Climate change litigation has expanded rapidly across jurisdictions, addressing issues such as greenhouse gas emissions, environmental degradation, biodiversity conservation, adaptation measures, corporate responsibility, and intergenerational equity. Simultaneously, the concept of environmental justice has gained prominence by emphasizing the equitable distribution of environmental benefits and burdens, ensuring that marginalized and disadvantaged communities are not disproportionately affected by environmental harm. Contemporary legal systems increasingly recognize the close relationship between climate justice, constitutional rights, and international environmental obligations. Courts across various countries have relied upon constitutional provisions, statutory frameworks, international agreements, and human rights principles to strengthen environmental governance and promote sustainable development. This paper critically examines the evolving relationship between climate change litigation and environmental justice through a comparative legal analysis of recent judicial developments in India, the United States, the European Union, Australia, and other jurisdictions.
