Gray matter volume moderates the effect of acute physical activity on cognitive load and relates to reading comprehension in adolescents: the Cogni-Action Project

Acute physical activity reduces cognitive load (CL) and improves reading comprehension; however, the role of gray matter volume in these effects is unknown. This study examined how gray matter volume moderates the effects of physical activity on cognitive load, and explored its association with reading comprehensio...

Cognitive vergence and pupillary responses as functional oculomotor signatures to differentiate AT(N) biological profiles in older adults with mild cognitive impairment

The locus coeruleus (LC), the earliest site of tau accumulation in Alzheimer’s disease, directly influences pupillary and vergence oculomotor systems. Whether task-evoked oculomotor dynamics can non-invasively differentiate AT(N) profiles, A+T+ (biological Alzheimer’s disease) and A−T+ (suspected non-Alzheimer’s tauopa...

Real-world clinical validation of brainstem-based ocular biomarkers for ADHD classification in children and adults.

This work proposes an objective deep-learning approach classifying ADHD via task-evoked pupil diameter and binocular eye-movement synchrony during a visual cueing task in 439 participants across 14 clinical centers, offering a robust tool to reduce subjective clinical bias.
