HDAC2-Specific Inhibitor Santacruzamate A Inhibits Mouse Preantral Folliculogenesis Through Granulosa Cell Apoptosis and Oocyte Meiosis Interference

Histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2)-mediated epigenetic modifications play a crucial role in oogenesis, yet the regulatory mechanisms of HDAC2 throughout the entire process of folliculogenesis remain elusive. In the present study, the localization and expression of HDAC2 were detected in mouse ovaries at distinct postnatal a...

Neuromedin B Regulates Cell Proliferation, Apoptosis and Steroidogenesis of Porcine Ovarian Granulosa Cells via NMBR

Simple Summary Neuromedin B is a naturally occurring signaling molecule that may be involved in the regulation of ovarian function, but its role in the pig ovary is not well understood. This study examined where the receptor for neuromedin B is located in the pig ovary and investigated how neuromedin B affects granulos...

Effects and mechanisms of NMB knockdown on cell proliferation, apoptosis and steroidogenesis in porcine ovarian granulosa cells.

Findings suggest that NMB may serve as an important regulator of cell viability, apoptosis and steroidogenesis through mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake and the PKA/CREB axis in GCs, thereby providing new mechanistic insights into follicular development and potential targets for improving porcine reproductive efficiency.

Precise dual-gene knockout of MSTN and SOCS2 via cytidine base editing enhances muscling and growth in goats

This study successfully established a YE1-AncBE4max-based platform for efficient, precise dual-gene editing in goats and showed that the edited goats exhibited significantly increased body weight and a "double-muscling" phenotype by 90 days of age compared to wild-type controls.
