Preferences of Spodoptera frugiperda J.E Smith on Pennisetum purpureum Schumach and P. purpureum cv. Mott plants in trap crop utilization

Spodoptera frugiperda is a major pest that attacks corn plants, causing damage that results in economic losses. An environmentally friendly pest control method that can be used is the use of trap plants in the Push Pull strategy. This study aims to determine the egg-laying preferences and development of S. frugiperda o...

BIOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT COMPARISON OF ALTICA HIMENSIS (COLEOPTERA: CHRYSOMELIDAE) ON BOTH INVASIVE ALIEN PLANT RUMEX HASTATUS AND NATIVE IMPATIENS BALSAMINA IN KASHMIR HIMALAYA

The invasive alien plant species Rumex hastatus and a native plant species Impatiens balsamina are considered as obnoxious weeds present in the Kashmir valley covering major habitat types like orchards, agricultural fields and barren lands. The specialist native insect herbivore Altica himensis collected at field sites...

Plant Essential Oils Against Pulse Beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) Management

Background: Pulse beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis (L.), is a major insect pest of stored legume grains and has developed resistance to a broad range of chemical insecticides. Plant essential oils (PEOs) show potential in management of stored-product pests. However, there are limited research about their use in Nepal....

Impacts of an oviposition deterrent pheromone and nanoparticle clay on Anthonomus eugenii (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) behavior under laboratory conditions.

This study evaluated the initial oviposition deterrence of kaolin clay in combination with dye and a previously characterized A. eugenii ODP, and indicated that peppers treated with kaolin clay alone deterred oviposition, but a concentration of 10% ODP + kaolin clay further reduced oviposition events.

Combined use of Beauveria bassiana and the predatory mite Neoseiulus californicus to suppress Tetranychus urticae on greenhouse-grown sweet pepper

Host Suitability and Parasitic Activity of Local Groups of Habrobracon hebetor (Say, 1836) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) as a Factor in the Management of Lepidopteran Pest Populations in Corn Agroecosystems

Simple Summary Habrobracon hebetor is a key parasitoid of Lepidoptera, and its biocontrol potential requires understanding local population traits. We studied natural populations from maize fields in two districts of Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Under laboratory conditions, we assessed host range and parasitic activity agai...
