Comparative Geomorphology: Unique Land Forms in Bharat through Structural Similarities Across the Globe for Trade

Abstract

This study attempts to determine the essential interface between physical geomorphology and macroeconomic logistics through an evaluation of nine different landforms across Bharat – specifically with regard to the coastal and tectonic structure of Gujarat along with their premiere international structure equivalent [1,4]. Through the application of comparative theory, the influence of specific coastal, fluvial, and ancient orogenic landforms such as the Kathiawar Peninsula, the macro tidal Gulf of Khambhat, and the terminating ridges of the ancient Aravalli fold system compared to global equivalents like the Iberian Peninsula, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Appalachian system on the efficiency of shipping, cargo transportation, and industrial corridors is analysed [4,5,6,9]. Through this evaluation, it becomes apparent that the structural geomorphology of the land dictates the location, size, and safe operations of mega-ports and transcontinental corridors [4]. Through the establishment of spatial and structural equivalency between local landforms and high traffic international ports and shipping corridors, this study determines untapped spatial strengths in Bharat’s own native geography [1,6]. The unique findings presented herein present a definitive framework to allow policymakers to capitalize on the best trade architecture design through the copying of globally synchronized geographic structures [4]
