Abstract
This version corresponds to the revised manuscript submitted to Geophysical Research Letters. This repository contains the MATLAB scripts used in: 'Present-Day Biases and Future Circulation Changes Reshape Freshwater-Driven Tropical Sea Surface Salinity Projections' submitted to Geophysical Research Letters (GRL). The scripts reproduce all analyses and figures presented in the manuscript. The datasets (data/) required by the scripts are archived separately on Zenodo. ========================= ======= Structure ======= ========================= SI_zenodo_src/ │ ├── config.m % configuration parameters ├── startup.m % initialize MATLAB paths (must run first) │ ├── data/ % placeholder directory for external datasets │ ├── CMIP6/ │ ├── HadSST/ │ ├── ORCA1_PISCES_FLX_v1/ │ ├── OSCAR/ │ └── SSS_SMOS-SMAP_OI_L4_v01/ │ └── script/ ├── scr_fig/ % scripts for generating figures in main text and SI ├── scr_load_data/ % data loading and preprocessing scripts └── scr_toolbox/ % utility functions ================================= ======= Data Availability ======= ================================= The datasets used in this study are archived separately on Zenodo: Dataset DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20425985 After downloading the dataset archive, place the data/ directory in the root directory of this repository: SI_zenodo_src/ ├── data/ └── script/ The folder structure inside data/ should remain unchanged. =========================== ======= Environment ======= =========================== The scripts were developed and tested using: MATLAB R2023a (or later recommended) Required MATLAB toolboxes may include: Mapping Toolbox Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox ===================== ======= Start ======= ===================== 1. Download this code repository. 2. Download the associated dataset archive from the Zenodo DOI above. 3. Place the data/ folder in the repository root directory. 4. Open MATLAB in the repository root directory. Run: startup.m This step adds all required paths. Run the figure scripts in: script/scr_fig/ Notes: The startup.m script must be executed before running any other scripts. Relative paths are used throughout the project; changing the folder structure may cause errors. Intermediate processed files (i.e. .png) may be generated during execution. This publication proposes a definition and a classification of agile software development approaches and analyses ten software development methods that can be characterized as being "agile" against the defined criterion.

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

The results indicate that software engineering work practices are chosen opportunistically, adapted and configured to provide value under the constrains imposed by the startup context.

The results show that the embedded industry has been able to apply agile methods in its development processes and that the appreciation of the agile methods and their individual practices appears to increase once adopted and applied in practice.

Consequences of happiness and unhappiness that are beneficial and detrimental for developers' mental well-being, the software development process, and the produced artifacts are found.

AI is making software generation faster, but speed does not remove the need for expertise. As more work is delegated to AI, tacit knowledge may become one of the most important human advantages in software engineering.
