SERVING TODAY’S SYSTEM NOW MEANS SERVING HUMANITY’S SELF-DESTRUCTION There was a time when the system needed human beings. It needed their labor, their attention, their imagination, their obedience, and their bodies. It needed workers to produce value, consumers to absorb it, soldiers to defend it, voters to legitimize it, and intellectuals to explain it. Human beings were never the true purpose of the system. They were its fuel. That is the point many people still do not want to face. Modern civilization has long spoken the language of human dignity, rights, and progress, but its operational logic has been very different. It has treated people primarily as instruments of production and stabilization. A person mattered to the extent that they could generate economic value, sustain institutions, reproduce the labor force, and remain governable. Even morality was often reduced to functionality: a “good citizen” was, above all, a manageable one. Now this arrangement is entering a new phase, and that phase is far darker than most people realize. Artificial intelligence and robotics are beginning to replace not only physical labor, but also cognitive labor, symbolic labor, and even parts of emotional labor. Machines can now write, summarize, analyze, translate, classify, predict, persuade, monitor, and coordinate. Step by step, the system is discovering that it no longer needs the human majority in the way it once did. The same civilization that justified itself through the management of human labor is approaching a threshold at which masses of people may become economically redundant. This changes everything. For centuries, ordinary people could at least claim a kind of strategic necessity. They were exploited, yes, but they were still needed. Today, that need is shrinking. And when a system built on control no longer needs the many, it does not suddenly become compassionate. It becomes selective. It becomes colder. It begins to reorganize society around a simple question: which humans remain useful, and which become surplus? This is the real danger of the AI era. The threat is not only that machines will take jobs. That is the shallow version of the problem. The deeper threat is that a civilization which already reduced people to functions may now begin to treat vast populations as disposable. Not necessarily through a single dramatic act, but through managed exclusion, psychological breakdown, engineered division, economic suffocation, cultural fragmentation, and the slow normalization of human redundancy. In such a system, people may be eliminated without being formally “eliminated.” They can be rendered socially irrelevant, politically voiceless, economically unnecessary, and spiritually exhausted. They can be flooded with distraction, trapped in artificial conflict, stripped of meaning, and pushed into mutual hostility. The most efficient system does not always destroy people directly. It teaches them to help destroy one another. That is why serving the current system is no longer neutral. It is no longer merely conformism. It is participation in a machinery that may be preparing to discard humanity in the name of optimization. This is where Odam Tili becomes crucial—not merely as a linguistic theory, but as a civilizational corrective. The human being is a living bearer of meaning. Before protocol comes pain. Before etiquette comes reaction. Before abstraction comes embodied existence. Before official language comes the cry, the refusal, the warning, the demand for justice. That is not a romantic claim. It is an ontological one. A living being must be able to register danger, express refusal, defend boundaries, and react to injustice. When a society trains people to suppress these responses in the name of “civility,” while tolerating mass suffering, organized hypocrisy, and institutionalized violence, then what it calls morality is often only behavioral sedation. This is one of the great moral inversions of our age. We are told that harsh language is unacceptable, but mass cruelty is negotiable. We are told that public outrage is indecent, but the killing of children can be explained, managed, proceduralized, and folded into diplomatic language. We are told to remain measured in the face of systemic barbarism, as though the true danger were not atrocity itself, but an emotionally honest response to it. That is not ethics. That is moral theater. From the perspective of Odam Tili, strong verbal reaction to profound injustice is not automatically a sign of vulgarity.
