Abstract
Domain-specific Instruction Set Architecture eXtensions (ISAX) are widely adopted in the RISC-V ecosystem to accelerate emerging workloads, but implementing and validating ISAXes across different cores remains slow and fragmented. Existing frameworks still require per-core interface adaptation, and differential testing often breaks once either the microarchitecture or the ISAX changes. We present LACE, an LLM-aided multi-agent workflow that translates natural-language ISAX intents into a compact two-level IR (operation-level and HDL task-level), performs retrieval-guided localized RTL edits over large repositories, and closes the loop with a compiler-agnostic riscv-formal checking flow (assuming RVFI availability or instrumentation). Across four embedded RISC-V cores, LACE raises pass@1 generation accuracy from near-zero to 72.8\% within our evaluation setup, while improving code localization and reducing integration rework. The code of LACE is available at https://github.com/UMN-ZhaoLab/LACE.
In the controlled operator study, the HINT-mediated route shows better observed convergence and avoids the severe implementation-quality degradation seen in several direct-generation results.

This work proposes VPID, a multi-agent framework for generating complex Verilog that achieves monotonic functional improvement and introduces an experience-guided refinement strategy that distills historical waveform mismatches into constraints, guiding the targeted debugging for the unverified ports.

PerfAgent is presented, a profiler-guided, verifier-in-the-loop workflow that gives an off-the-shelf coding agent the feedback needed to find real hotspots, improve beyond the first passing patch, and use profiler evidence rather than timing alone to decide what to optimize next.

The results indicate that functional correctness in code generation can be meaningfully improved without modifying the backbone architecture, by jointly optimizing how tasks are prompted, how the model is adapted, and how final outputs are selected.
This work introduces TriArchitect, a novel shared-state multi-agent framework designed to bridge the gap between probabilistic reasoning and deterministic structural integrity, and introduces a rigorous Validator-Veto Protocol, which enforces a "compilation-as-consensus" rule to reject hallucinated proposals before the...
