Abstract

A novel nonisolated high‐gain DC‐DC converter is proposed in this article. The converter integrates a three‐winding coupled inductor (TWCI) and a voltage modulation circuit (VMC), thereby significantly enhancing the voltage boosting capability. Its boost structure, made of a coupled inductor and a VMC, achieves high‐voltage gain with fewer turns in the inductor and an appropriate duty cycle. Furthermore, the three‐winding coupled inductor serves to enhance the versatility of voltage gain regulation. The converter's input is connected to an inductor, reducing input current ripple. Low‐voltage stress on switching devices and clamping diodes makes it easy to select low‐loss, fast recovery diodes, improving converter efficiency. There are steady‐state analysis, parameter design, and loss analysis of the proposed converter presented in this article, along with a comparison to existing high‐gain converters. Consequently, an experimental prototype was constructed in accordance with the design principles, and the experimental results substantiated the efficacy of the proposed converter.
