A DEVOPS-BASED APPROACH TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN MODERN COOPERATIVES: EVIDENCE FROM PALEMBANG CITY
Abstract
The rapid advancement of digital technology requires cooperatives to improve operational efficiency, transparency, and service accessibility through digital transformation. However, many cooperatives in Palembang City still rely on conventional administrative processes, resulting in inefficient data and transaction management. Therefore, this study aims to implement a DevOps-based approach in developing a digital cooperative system at the Palembang Cooperative and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Office. This study applied the DevOps methodology through several integrated phases, including Continuous Development, Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Monitoring. The system was developed as a web-based platform using NextJS, MySQL, and cloud-based infrastructure to support scalable and reliable cooperative services. The results show that the DevOps approach can effectively accelerate software development and deployment processes while maintaining software quality and system reliability. The developed system supports various cooperative activities, including member data management, savings and loan transactions, cash management, and financial reporting accessible to administrators, operators, and cooperative members digitally. In addition, continuous testing and monitoring mechanisms improved system stability, operational efficiency, and transaction transparency. This study concludes that DevOps can effectively support the digital transformation of modern cooperatives by improving cooperative service quality, operational efficiency, and technology adoption. Furthermore, the digital cooperative system has the potential to increase public engagement and strengthen cooperative competitiveness in the digital era.
