TL;DR

In this real-world study, higher rates of immune-related adverse events were observed than those reported in the KEYNOTE-522 trial, although severe toxicities remained uncommon.

Abstract

Simple Summary Pembrolizumab combined with chemotherapy has become a standard treatment for patients with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer. In this real-world study, higher rates of immune-related adverse events were observed than those reported in the KEYNOTE-522 trial, although severe toxicities remained uncommon. Many patients discontinued treatment because of toxicity, yet pathological complete response rates remained high. These findings highlight the importance of toxicity monitoring and the need for further research to better understand the impact of treatment discontinuation.

Remarkable Response to Pembrolizumab in Metastatic Cancer of Unknown Primary.

BACKGROUND Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is aggressive, with limited options and poor prognosis. Mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) CUP is rare, and reports of its response to immunotherapy are scarce. CASE PRESENTATION A 52-year-old man presented with extensive liver metastases and severe hepatic dysfunction (biliru...

Early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer: emerging treatments and evolving challenges.

The treatment of early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has evolved substantially in recent years. For decades, curative-intent surgery followed by platinum-based chemotherapy remained the standard of care (SOC), despite delivering only modest gains in long-term survival. Current evidence from randomised trials...

Baseline Systemic Inflammation Response Index and Clinical Outcomes in Heavily Pretreated Platinum-Resistant Ovarian Cancer Treated with Pembrolizumab Monotherapy

Simple Summary Platinum-resistant ovarian cancer is difficult to treat, and the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab provides long-lasting cancer control in only a small proportion of patients. We investigated whether routine blood tests taken before treatment could provide information about which patients tend to have bet...

treatment cycles or adjunctive interventions to prevent bleeding. Overall, this study overcomes the limitations of single-center or small-sample studies by incorporating multiple time points and stratified analyses. It provides robust real-world evidence supporting the optimization of eltrombopag treatment duration and...
