Abstract

A one‐step CRISPR editing strategy targeting C3H in hybrid poplar ‘Nanlin 895’ reduces lignin content and doubles saccharification yield while maintaining normal biomass growth, successfully overcoming the traditional yield penalty in a commercially relevant tree species.
