Abstract
Limited knowledge and awareness on green procurement policies among procurement officers, end users, and suppliers constitute obstacles to its effective implementation. The study investigates the relationship between product life cycle monitoring and real- time data sharing in Nigerian Maritime University. The total population of the study comprised of 1,252 employees, and sample size was determined using taro Yamane formula and calculated as 303. The study employed a descriptive survey research design, and a stratified random sampling technique in the distribution of the survey to ensure optimum allocation of survey to each stratum. The study population includes: procurement officers, internal auditors, logistics managers, administrative staff, and heads of departments. Out of 303 questionnaires distributed only 281 were returned and utilized while the remaining 22 were not returned and utilized for the study. Statistical tools such as descriptive, inferential statistics, and linear regression were used to analyze the hypotheses at 5 % significant level. The findings showed that the combined use of life cycle assessment and real-time visibility has a significant impact on better organizational and environmental performance. The study recommend that university management should organize regular training programmes to improve skill development of lecturers, researchers, technical staff, and students on LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, OpenLCA, GaBi) and real-time visibility technologies.
Continued use of traditional procurement method hampers the adoption of innovative, and sustainable procurement practices capable of enhancing operational efficiency and long-term institutional performance. This research investigate the relationship between Green Supplier Selection (GSS) and flexible sourcing practices (FSP) in Nigeria Maritime University, South -South Region. The total population of the study comprised of 1,252 employees, using taro Yamane formula to determine a sample size of 303 employees. A descriptive survey research design was employed in the research, and a stratified random sampling technique was applied in the distribution of the survey to the participants including- procurement officers, internal auditors, logistics managers, administrative staff, and heads of departments. Copies of 303 questionnaires were distributed out of which 281 were returned, while the remaining 22 were not returned and utilized for the study. Both descriptive, inferential statistics, and Pearson correlation techniques were utilized in testing hypotheses to determine the relationships between the variables. The findings indicates a high association between green supplier selection (GSS) and flexible sourcing (FLS) based on responses from the participants. The study recommends university management to prioritize local sourcing and encourage investments in indigenous manufacturing firms to reduce dependence on foreign products such as office equipment and machines.

A high initial investment in acquiring environmentally friendly products can discourage
institutions from adopting them. This study explored the extent to which eco-friendly products
contribute to supply chain resilience and operational performance at the Nigerian Maritime
University. The study employed a quantitative survey method administering a sample of 303copies
questionnaire to the staff of the organization using a stratified sampling technique. The hypotheses
were tested and analyzed using a regression method with the aid of Minitab software. The
regression analysis indicates eco-friendly products significantly relates to operational efficiency
in Nigerian Maritime University, South-South Nigeria. The model regression indicates (R² = 99.20,
B = 1.039, β = 0.0162, p = 0.000); indicating that the model is a good fit. The coefficient 1.0399
is highly significant (p < 0.001). This indicates a positive and strong effect, explaining that for
every one-unit increase in eco-friendly products, the operational efficiency increases by
approximately 1.039 units. The NOVA result confirms F = 4117.07, p < 0.001. The study
concludes that the adoption of eco-friendly products plays a significant and positive role in
enhancing organizational sustainability performance or resilience. Organizations should embed
eco-friendly product selection into their procurement guidelines to promote sustainable
operations. Management should invest in environmentally friendly technologies and capacity
building initiatives to support the transition to sustainable practices.

This study examined the assessment of inventory
management factors affecting construction project
delivery in Imo state, Nigeria. Adopting a descriptive
survey research design. The study population
comprised 800 construction professionals, including
architects, estate surveyors and valuers, site engineers,
materials purchasers, construction/project managers,
and contractors. Using the Taro Yamane formula, a
sample size of 267 respondents was determined through
judgmental sampling, while 243 valid questionnaires
representing a 91% response rate were retrieved and
analyzed. Data were collected through structured
questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics
and multiple regression analysis with the aid of SPSS
version 23.
The findings revealed that theft and vandalization (β = -
0.177, p < 0.001), high carrying cost (β = -0.148, p =
0.020), insecurity (β = -0.169, p < 0.001), shortage of
materials (β = -0.137, p = 0.020), and inability to
determine the appropriate EOQ (β = -0.152, p = 0.002)
had significant negative effects on construction project
delivery. However, the use of traditional materials
management methods (β = -0.010, p = 0.876) was not
statistically significant. The regression model showed a
strong relationship between inventory management
factors and project delivery (R = 0.925), with the
identified variables explaining approximately 85% of
the variation in construction project delivery (R² =
0.850). The overall regression model was statistically
significant (F = 8.895, p = 0.002), confirming the
collective influence of inventory management practices
on project delivery.
The study concluded that effective inventory
management is critical to achieving successful
construction project delivery, with. Recommendation to
strengthen site security to minimize theft and
vandalization, adopting modern inventory management
systems and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP),
implementing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ)
techniques, engaging inventory management
professionals, and improving materials planning to
reduce carrying costs, prevent material shortages, and
enhance project performance.

The impact of compensation packages on organisations has continued to draw attention of organizational policy makers and scholars. This study examined the relationship between compensation packages and organizational sustainability in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) between 2014 to 2025. The study was instituted to achieve a specific objective. The Resource-Based View (RBV) was adopted as the analytical guide. The descriptive research design was employed as an approach. The study population comprised 615 managerial, permanent, and contract staff of the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries. A sample size of 242 respondents was determined using the Taro Yamane formula, while Bowley’s proportional allocation and stratified random sampling techniques were employed. Primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire validated by experts, while the instrument yielded a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.87, confirming its reliability. Out of the 242 questionnaires administered, 220 valid copies were retrieved and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27, while Spearman Rank Order Correlation was employed to test the hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that respondents agreed that competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, equitable reward systems, and comprehensive monetary and non-monetary benefits significantly enhanced employee motivation, commitment, retention, and productivity, thereby promoting organizational sustainability. The hypothesis test further revealed a strong positive and statistically significant relationship between compensation packages and organizational sustainability (r = 0.733, p = 0.000), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The study concluded that competitive and equitable compensation packages are essential for improving workforce stability, reducing employee turnover, enhancing productivity, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of NNPCL. The study recommended that NNPCL should periodically review its compensation structure to ensure alignment with industry standards and employee expectations.

Nigeria’s electricity sector continues to face major challenges due to aging infrastructure, which
increases operational costs and reduces overall efficiency. This study aimed to assess how
procurement practices influence sustainability within the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory
Commission (NERC), South-East, with a specific focus on the effect of green technology on
environmentally friendly products. Using a quantitative correlational design, 148 surveys were
distributed to staff across Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo states, of which 133 were completed
and used for analysis. Pearson correlation and descriptive statistics were employed to test the
hypotheses. The results revealed a very strong and statistically significant positive correlation
between green technology and eco-friendly products (r = .994, n = 132, p < .01), indicating that
advancements in green technology account for a large proportion of changes in environmental
product outcomes. Based on these findings, the study recommends that NERC strengthen
procurement policies by prioritizing vendors who provide certified green technologies and
environmentally sustainable materials.
