Purpose Endometriosis affects approximately 10% of reproductive-age women and up to 20% of those with infertility. Despite rising awareness in adults, adolescent endometriosis remains underrecognized, especially in Southeast Asia. This study aimed to evaluate early symptoms and diagnostic timelines of adolescent endometriosis in West Java over the past three years. Patients and Methods This retrospective descriptive study was conducted at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, a tertiary referral center in West Java, Indonesia. Adolescents aged ≤ 22 years with surgically and histopathologically confirmed endometriosis between October 2022 and October 2024 were included. Primary outcomes were age at symptom onset, age at diagnosis, and diagnostic delay. Secondary outcomes included presenting symptoms and disease stage based on the revised American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) classification. Patients were contacted by telephone to complete a structured questionnaire after consent; ethical approval was obtained. Results The mean (SD) age at diagnosis was 20.31 (±2.55) years, while the mean age at symptom onset was 17.8 (±2.65) years. The mean diagnostic delay was 32.28 (±22.74) months (range 1–72 months). The most common symptom was dysmenorrhea (52%), followed by severe dysmenorrhea (31%), heavy menstrual bleeding (14%), dyspareunia (10%), and dysuria (1%). Most patients presented with advanced disease: among 29 cases, 15 were stage III and 13 were stage IV. Conclusion Adolescent endometriosis in West Java is characterized by delayed diagnosis and advanced-stage presentation, likely influenced by low awareness and sociocultural factors. Early recognition of persistent menstrual pain may reduce diagnostic delay and prevent disease progression.

BACKGROUND
Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide and remains a major public health concern. As many patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, understanding its epidemiological characteristics is essential for prevention and early detection. This study investigated the epidemiological profile of GC among patients referred to a gastroenterology clinic in western Iran.
METHODS
In this cross-sectional study, we reviewed the medical records of 193 patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancers (GI) out of 6223 total endoscopic/colonoscopic procedures performed at the (XXX) clinic between 2009 and 2019.
RESULTS
A total of 93 patients were diagnosed with gastric cancer, accounting for 48.2 % of all identified GI cancer cases (n = 193). The mean age was 67.3 ± 12.6 years, with the highest frequency observed in the 70-79-year age group (31.2 %). Men accounted for 64.5 % of cases. Most patients lived in urban areas (86 %). The most common presenting symptoms were epigastric pain and weight loss (45.2 %), followed by loss of appetite (36.6 %) and dysphagia (21.5 %). Tumors were most frequently located in the cardia (47.3 %), followed by the body (33.3 %), antrum (11.8 %), and pylorus (7.5 %). Adenocarcinoma was the predominant histological type (92.5 %), with poorly differentiated tumors accounting for 47.2 % of cases. Regarding risk factors, 24.7 % of patients reported smoking, 14 % had a family history of gastric cancer, and 58.1 % reported no identifiable risk factors. Tumor location and histological type showed no significant association with gender.
CONCLUSION
GC was the most prevalent GI malignancy identified in this regional cohort, aligning with national and broader epidemiological trends. While changing lifestyle profiles and dietary patterns have been hypothesized to influence these shifts globally, comprehensive longitudinal studies are required to directly evaluate specific behavioral and environmental risk factors within this population.

Background: Abnormal uterine bleeding affects women across reproductive and postmenopausal life stages and may signal a spectrum extending from benign endometrial change to malignancy. Objective: This study evaluated the correlation between clinical presentation and histopathological findings in women with abnormal uterine bleeding. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, from July 2025 to June 2026, enrolling 156 women aged 18–65 years with abnormal uterine bleeding. Clinical variables, endometrial thickness, and histopathological diagnoses were extracted from case records and analysed using SPSS v26.0, with p<0.05 taken as significant. Results: Mean age was 40.6 ± 14.6 years and mean haemoglobin was 11.1 ± 2.1 g/dL, with anaemia (haemoglobin <12 g/dL) in 93/156 participants (59.6%). Polymenorrhoea (21.8%) and intermenstrual bleeding (21.2%) were the leading presentations. Histopathology showed endometrial hyperplasia without atypia in 39/156 (25.0%) and endometrial carcinoma in 33/156 (21.2%) specimens, with 84/156 (53.8%) classified as benign. Age group was strongly associated with histopathological category (χ²=94.08, df=18, p<0.001), and carcinoma cases were significantly older than non-malignant cases (47.3 ± 16.9 versus 38.8 ± 13.4 years; t=3.06, p=0.0026). Endometrial thickness, haemoglobin, and body mass index did not differ significantly across histopathological categories (all p>0.05). Hysteroscopy (26.9%) was the commonest management modality, and procedure-related complications occurred in 7/156 participants (4.5%). Conclusion: Age-stratified clinicohistopathological correlation reveals a substantial premalignant and malignant burden among women with abnormal uterine bleeding, supporting routine, age-directed endometrial sampling in this population.
