Features of Functional Brain Connectivity in Children During Working Memory Tasks
Abstract
In the current study, we investigated frequency-specific features of functional brain networks in children aged 8-14 years during working memory task performance using EEG data. We found that the mean weighted node degree was highest in the theta band, whereas faster task performance was associated with a higher mean weighted node degree in the alpha band. These findings suggest that, although theta-band networks exhibited the strongest overall functional connectivity, individual differences in behavioral performance were specifically associated with alpha-band network connectivity.
