Electromagnetic Transmission Zeros Filtering Using an Inhomogeneous Photonic Loop
Abstract
In this work, we focus on the interface response theory based on Green's function in order to examine the propagation of electromagnetic waves through a symmetrical loop composed of different optical materials. Numerical results show the emergence of transmission very/large zeros modes (TZs) at specific reduced frequencies. TZs result from wave reflection and destructive interference of waves propagating in the loop, playing a particular and important role in suppressing interference between different frequencies of a signal transmitted through the structure. By varying geometric and physical parameters (permittivities), we show that one can optimize transmission properties and design a rejection filter that blocks electromagnetic waves at specific frequencies, suitable for applications in wireless communications and radar.
