GROWTH AND PRODUCTIVITY OF JUVENILE NILE TILAPIA (OREOCHROMIS NILOTICUS) WHEN GROWN IN CONCRETE BASINS OF A RECIRCULATING FARMING SYSTEM IN THE REPUBLIC OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to study the growth and productivity of juvenile Nile tilapia when grown in concrete basins of the recirculation farming system of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. The study was conducted in the spring of 2025 on 80 juvenile tilapia aged 35 days. Cultivation was carried out in concrete pools with a volume of 350 liters with a planting density of 40 specimens/pool. The initial average weight of the fish was 20 g. Feeding was carried out with granular feed twice a day. The average weight of fish increased to 177 g, the absolute increase was 157 g/specimen. The survival rate was 85%. The specific growth rate averaged 3.11% per day. The feed conversion rate (FCR) was 1.25. The fish productivity was 14.9 kg/m3.
